February 8, 2010

Get to know the board members. Each board member will share 2 or 3 quilts and give a short talk on how long they’ve been quilting, what inspired them to begin quilting, favorite technique, etc.

March 8, 2010 – Anelie Beldon

Anelie’s lecture will be “Gadget Gal”. The newest of products will be demonstrated in a fun manner along with some creative ways to turn non-quilting tools into useful quilting tools. There will be a one-day workshop on Tuesday, March 9 called “Thoroughly Modern Dresden”. These new Dresdens are colorful, clever, fun and easy to make using Anelie’s new stitch-and-flip technique.

April 12, 2010 – Laura Nownes

Laura’s lecture will be “Shared Stitches and Stories” a trunk show of quilts from the first to the most recent along with charming stories stitched into each one.  There will be a one-day workshop on Monday, April 12 called Diamond Jubilee II where students will learn to strip piece and quick cut diamonds that are sewn with no “Y” seams.

Stash Reduction Sale

June 12 & 13, 2010 - Alice Kraus

Alice will teach an Appliqué Sampler.  Learn several different methods of applique while making a wall hanging consisting of a Victorian vase filled with flowers.  Methods include needle turn, freezer paper and different template methods.

 

June 14, 2010 – Wina Helm

Wina will give her presentation as the featured quilter.

 

 

July 12, 2010 – Sally Collins

Sally’s lecture will be a trunk show of her quilts.
There will be a two-day workshop on Tuesday, July13 and Wednesday, July 14 called “Circle of Stars”. This class will focus on design, color and workmanship. Ohio Stars are worked into a Trip Around the World background to create a beautiful mosaic.

Judy’s lecture will be a “Combo Lecture/Trunk Show” where she will share several of her quilts and then give a short talk about her trip to Cambodia to teach quilting to young girls rescued from the sex trade. There will be a one-day workshop on Tuesday, August 10 called “Rectangles on Point”. Students will begin with a focus fabric and pick 3 fabrics to go with it to create colorful rectangle boxes on point.

Judi’s lecture will be a “Wearable Art/Quilt Combo” trunk show.

There will be a one-day workshop on Monday, November 8 called “Threadpainting” where students will learn tips and tricks for adding thread embellishment to their quilts and wearable art.

Monthly Meetings

Sierra Quilt Guild of Tuolumne County has a meeting every month. Come join us. Our monthly meetings are scheduled for the second Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Tuolumne County Senior Center, Greenley Road, Sonora, CA. We have a scheduled program, show and tell, block of the month, community activities, and an opportunity to meet and network with other local quilters.
